Solibri Model Checker (SMC) Workflow Tips and Tricks

USE Case – Coordination and Issue Management

1. Add a Single Presentation Slide Associated to Multiple Results
In Solibri Model Checker (SMC) version 9.5, you can now add a single slide to multiple issues by multi-selecting the results in the Results view, right-clicking one of the selected results, and selecting “Add Slide”:

Multi_SlideAdd1

A single slide will be available to view as a popup snapshot by hovering over the result:

Multi_SlideAdd2

When creating a presentation from the checking results, only a single slide is created that is associated with those multiple issues:

Multi_SlideAdd3

2. Add Multiple Responsible Parties

Previous to version 9.5, you could only add one responsible party or discipline at a time from a dropdown menu:

AddResponsibilities1

Now in SMC v9.5, you can add multiple responsibilities at one time:

AddResponsibilities2

3. Show All Other Components that are Related to Identified Issues

Introduced in SMC version 9.0, if a component has issues from running a check, you are able to right click the component in the 3D view and select “Show Components in Issues” to display all related components that are listed in the results from any rule:

showComponentsInIssue

For example, you can use “Show Components in Issues” to display all components that a duct intersects from multiple results:

showComponentsInIssue2

4. Check all issues a component has in the Info View – from multiple checks

Introduced in SMC version 9.0, if a component has issues from a check, you are able to select the component in the 3D view and view all results from all ruleset checks where that component is present, in the Issues Tab of the Info View.  For example, the wall below is related to issues from Unallocated Areas, Space Validation, and General Intersection checks:

5. Select All Results from an Individual Ruleset Check

Introduced in SMC version 9.5, if a component has issues from multiple ruleset checks, you are able to select the component in the 3D view and view all results from any specific ruleset check in the Issues tab of the Info View.

InfoViewSameRule1

For example, right-clicking the first listing in the Issues tab of the Info View, and selecting “Select Results from Same Rule”, selects all results from the Deficiency Detection > Unallocated Areas rule in the Issues tab of the Info View.

6. Select Multiple Results and Assign a Checking Decision from the Issues Tab of the Info View

Introduced in SMC version 9.5, you are able to multi-select results in the Issue tab of the Info view and set the checking decision.

For example, the three results of a duct intersecting walls where selected and marked as Accepted below as they are not actual issues:
