Using SMC to Verify Compliance with Guidelines

Solibri Model Checker is widely accepted as the leader in BIM-based quality assurance checking. Quality assurance can also include measuring compliance with Guidelines that have been established at the micro or macro level (process, project, agency or even territory). While there are many examples of BIM Guidelines, the process of checking them, in most cases, will remain the same: a list of requirements for the project is converted to rules that will be consistently applied to validate the model and to verify that it adheres to these requirements.

Using several different rule templates, you can build a ruleset that reflects the BIM Guidelines. Listed below are example requirements from the Massport MPA Bim Guidelines, along with the corresponding template that would be used to convert the requirement to a Rule in SMC.

BIM Guideline Requirement  Solibri Model Checker (SMC) Rule Template
OmniClass Spaces by Function (Table 13) Property Rule Template with Component Filters Rule + Classification
